What is your first memory of the war?

In fact, we did - did we go by car? - yes we did, we went by car with the whole kit and caboodle from Zenica to Grude. I vaguely remember that my mother kept on pushing my head downwards telling me there is some bombing. We were sitting in the back, my father was driving and someone else was also sitting in the front - but I really don´t remember. In any case, my mother was pushing my head downwards, she didn´t want me to get hurt. And, I was really afraid - I can recall that. I did not exactly know what was going on. But I knew something was going on: my mother was scared, and I was scared too. I do remember that. What a time...
